This book I think it was this book not the rest of the series was actually the inspiration for the first like Discworld PC game. It cribbed heavily from this and this one was obviously very popular. The author and critic named John Clute took issue with it a little bit saying that the monologues that get more serious have all the ring of another sphere of discourse. He said they come close to shattering the comic pulse of the Discworld.
When Andrew read The Colour of Magic, people suggested that the beginning of the Discworld series was not necessarily the best place to start. Guards!
