How to Avoid Diastolic Hypertension in Older Patients

Rick Blumenthal: As long as you go relatively slowly with the blood pressure medications, there's really not a good case to say you're harming the patient if you're getting your diastolic down below 60. He suggests that you do it the old fashioned way with your stethoscope and listening to when those carotic cuff sounds are smothered and then go away.
