What Does It Mean to Be a White American?
The image of squid dancing is uniformly white and, you know, round and round in Dosey Doh. The dancers are directed by a dance caller. All of the earliest references to dance collars were black musicians. By the early 19th century, every town in North Carolina had a ballroom where there was almost always a black fiddler.
