Thomas Friedman: Protein is harder to get on a plant based diet in terms of hitting a certain amount if you're trying to optimize for hypertrophy without sort of blowing out your calories. For me, I tend to lean more into tofu and tempeh and beans and less into whole grains than some people. He says there's this kind of growing trend online where people would sort of have you believe that fiber, well, it's actually it's not essential nutrient,. So do we really need it? "I'm a big fiber guy," he says.
