The Palace at Pistos
The palace at faistos covered more than nine thousand square meters, almost 97 thousand square feet of space. It was a place for the elite, and it was designed to showcase them in a series of favorable spaces. Palaces grew out of competition between elite groups in different parts of crete. Elites started building palaces to show off their power, but they didn't stay on either enasos or malia. They represented seismic changes in social, political and economic organization.
