Freud and Jung's Views on the Unconscious
Both Freud and Jung believed that most of what we did was unconsciously motivated. But they had very different views about what was going on there. For Freud, the unconscious is like a closet in which you store all these things you don't want to deal with or think about. In Jung's view, why is the head of this complex universal? Why does it always happen over and over again? The answer is just an archetype. It's part of the collective unconscious.
