Dr. Chata: I think CT really needs to be done when a diagnosis needs to be made because treatment is going to be imminent. The sooner rather than later, sometimes it'll get followed up in fracture clinic and they'll order a CT from fracture clinic. In older patients who have osteopenia osteoporosis, usually it's pretty good at picking up hip fracture with confidence.
