If you find a vacant property, odds are pretty high that it's an absentee owner. They may be what we call a 'don't-wander' meaning they don't want the property anymore. Many services out there will write letters or postcards to non-owner occupied properties. If you're persistent, and I've heard the number seven, you have to kind of hit them seven times before you start getting responses from these absentee owners.
