Catholic Shintoism - What's Going on in the Pews?

Some say the Eucharist isn't merely a symbol of the body and blood of Christ. Others just say it's a community celebration. It's a connection with my family history has always, we've all kind of a Catholic Shintoism. So there's a whole panoply of rationales that are possible, but none of them correspond to the Catholic teaching.
