I've Been There, Done That, Don't You

I chose to work for the county because those are my people. I've had all kinds of life hurdles to overcome dealing with poverty and the safety net system growing up on food stamps. The other perk of being in public health is you got to keep on thinking about these infectious diseases that had intrigued you your whole life. So it was just a clear fit. It's amazing that it turned out with such a happy ending.
