The West Bank Has to Deal With Repressive Politics

A total of 224 Palestinians were killed in 2022, including 49 people that were murdered during a three day Israeli assault on the besieged Gaza Strip. Many of the casualties in the West Bank in 2022 were young Palestinians who have only ever known military occupation and the oppression of the Israeli government. This daily violence against Palestinians has traumatized generations of Palestinian children and their parents have no way to protect them. The West Bank also has to deal with the repressive politics of the Ramallah-based Palestinian Authority which is now widely unpopular among Palestinians.
