The Wild Letter to the Chief Justice
The chief justice wrote a letter to Congress saying he would not appear in front of congressional committees. Leahy: "It's just like a kind of, you know, I'm not here's some other examples of chiefs, yes, showing up and bye bye" She says there was no effort to sort of compromise between the two branches during this inter branch conflict. The justices also seemed to remind people that they face security threats by considering such things as gifts from close friends or even members of Congress.
