How Iterative Design Helps Books

A great example of the way iterative design helps books is that when we first started, one of the things that we want to do in our fundamentals book was do real apples to apples compare between all these different architectural styles. How do you really compare a layered monolith with a micro kernel or microservices or service oriented architecture? So we want to come up with a way of comparing those things. And so we need to expand the dimensions that we're talking about so that we have more nuance in our comparison. We graduated to something that has become a very popular feature of our book, which are these star rating charts, which are five stars. You either get one star or five stars.
