Carol Phillips was the son of Caribbean immigrants to the UK. And if he grew up in a northern city called Leeds, which is in Yorkshire. He has also been influenced to a great degree by Black American culture. I think it makes sense for somebody from a background that's not really as rooted to any specific place as Black Americans are. It makes sense why somebody like Phillips gravitates you that culture.
