What Is It About the National Anthem That Gets People So Upset?

There are three kinds of people in every community. The early adopter, the neophyte and the neophiliac want to try something new. Anthems and pledges are a good place to find this sort of person. A pledge like an anthem has to be embraced by people who like things the regular way. That's what it's for. What it's for is that you can go to a new town, to a new meeting, to anew event, and know that that pledge, that anthem, is going to be the way it's supposed to be.
