We could deposit about a metre of water per year on any part of the polar plateau and have it freeze successfully. At a metre thick, that would be about one third of Antarctica. We had now established a trifecta of impossibilities. Not enough energy, not enough pipeline, not enough land. The beaches of the world were fucked.
