I really struggled with feeling protective and almost like defensive I don't know if defensive is the right word but definitely protective because it feels like when you're a woman in comedy or or any really like you know job that is predominantly saturated by men. You feel like there's not enough room at the table so you have to fight to protect your place, she says. She also thinks that we have been taught that we are each other's competition and that is just not true. It would be a huge miss for me to feel defensive speaking with another female comedian who has so much to teach me according to her.
