I'm trying to think and maybe I'm just drawing blanks because of the conversation happened. All of the old people, the Luke Skywalker's,. are these jaded pissed off, I guess like the projection of what the writers think about boomers. Maybe it's a generational resentment that's at play where it's like, no, we're better than you and your generation screwed us over.
