I do think there are like a lot of great book set in boarding school I think partly that age when you gather any group of girls there's plenty of drama right for each girl to be themselves and also to be others. because the original scene of this novel that girl author did also go to it's very convenient to just follow her trajectory to go to English finishing school. As a novelist you cannot give your characters what they want so I think a natural way to separate them is for Agnes to go out to the world to experience the world while Fabian stays back in the countryside.
