In china alone, there are more people learning english than all the native speakers of English combined. 15 billion dollars a year is spent on tests to prove that you know how to speak and useEnglish. The way this process works is kind of similar to taking the s a t. You pay about 250 bucks for it. If you want to get a job at a multi national corporation in a non-language speaking country, you usually have to take a test to prove thatyou know english. There are unis fonny who only teach language to hotel employees. They're just certain cities in every city where these testing centres exist.
