The Dark Prince of Malibu

There were movie stars living in the Malibu movie colony, a group of houses clustered at one end of surf ride or beach. The characters at Malibu were basically beatnicks and dropouts. Some of them were what we would now think of as homeless. There was no special wetsuits, no wetsuits. They cut off jeans for their trucks. So it was like the beginning infancy of the surf thing.
