Introduction
Emergency contraception also known as post-coidoconterception is therapy used to prevent pregnancy after an unprotected or inadequately protected act of intercourse. The most commonly used oral emergency contraceptive regimen is a progestin only pill which consists of 1.5 mg of leaver nor gestural. A second dedicated emergency contraceptive, a pill containing 30 mg of euliprystal was approved by the FDA in 2010 and that one does require a prescription.
