What Are Protocol Buffers?

Akshay: I've been working on something for a little while and it's finally coming out tomorrow, so I'm pretty excited about that. Akshay: We first started talking back whenever Matt did an episode on what was it bloat that can come with software. And this protocol buffers came up because they're something that when you import them, they can lead to a lot of extra code being imported behind the scenes without realizing it. So we wanted to talk a little bit about sort of like different implementations of these things and all that stuff. But first, let's just start off with the basics and what are protocol buffers? That's a great question.
