Morgan Geyser's Diagnosis of Schizophrenia

A psychiatrist at the Winnebago Mental Health Institute diagnosed Morgan with early onset schizophrenia in December of 2014. Schizophrenia is so profoundly disabling that it is one of the very few mental disorders for which the government will provide financial assistance, also known as disability assistance. Matt Geyser was hospitalized at least four times for psychotic breaks between the ages of 14 and 15 before he learned how to control his thoughts. Neither parent told Morgan about her father's diagnosis because they did not want to alarm her. The sooner psychiatric intervention happens, the better their prognosis.
