Until we have a network, there's a whole bunch of stuff that cannot happen. I've got a very simple example. We both do spreadsheets like nobody's business. Until those computers can communicate with each other,. So a network is a different kind of thing. And there's an entire category of computational phenomena that only exist in the context of network. That's an example. It's a great analogy because culture of networked brains together long before the internet networked computers together. Would you call that an emergent property?
