Joel O'Connell: The idea is that, yeah, we forgive. It's a gracious type of forgiving. However, it's also judicial in the sense that we're to be aware of the great debt that we have been forgiven of. He says sometimes verses are weaponized or misinterpreted by people who don't know what Scripture means. And then sometimes we take a verse that was meant for a situation and use it as a broad, sweet, sweeping application.
