i wrote this sort of impressionistically and weirdly, in part because i had a whole bunch other stuff i had to do. But people got a very positive reaction to it. One of the, one of, one ofth moste influential books for me was this book by the sky james scott, i called seeing like a state. A, the point being that the from going back from the earliest city states, what states want to do is make their populations more legible. By which they can read them.
