The frontal lobes of the brain are extremely well developed in humans relative to other species. They take information that is distributed around the rest of the brain and combines it with internal information, if you like. It basically works out what's going on. And that's how we are able to solve many novel problems. This was something i became quite obsessed with during my ph d.
