Is There a Space Station?

There are people at the south pole station, which is jointly operated by a number. They're studying the effect of long term isolation there in order to create a model for martian exploration. The temperature dips down to minus 60 degrees Fahrenheit and it's very hostile all year round. But you can only really extract people if an emergency occurs.
