Can Machines Think?
The turring test is a sort ofa parlor game where the a human interrogator and has a written conversation with both a human and a computer. The important part of the test is this idea that imitating what humans can do might be more important than determining what it means to think. Andrew youvh: I should note that mainstream ai is not mostly concerned with trying to write programs that pass the turring test.
