The Equity Component of Trauma Informed Education
In your book, there were some key sort of features that I noticed that you brought up. A lot of them had to do with the idea of trauma informed education is this and not that. If we only base our trauma informed practices on a narrow label like that on a score, then we're definitely going to miss some students who maybe the eight items on that checklist don't represent really hard and difficult things in their life. You know, for example, experiencing racism is not one of the ACEs on that checklist. So if we only focus on who we think has experienced trauma, then we are missing people.
