How to Get a Share of the Profits in a Business
The overriding strategy of both public and private institutions since the seventies has been to bring down labor costs. And this is very strange, i would say, because it indicates that these employers are not broke. They just resist more significant changes. If they are strapped for cash and really desperately need workers, why don't they simply offer a share of the profits? It can be called sweat equity - you do labor and get a share of ownership.
