Is There an Overarching Explanation of the Totality of the Whole?

Within the totality of existence, there are particular things, and each particular thing has an explanation. And if each particularthing has an explanation, then it seems plausible that there is no explanation over and above the conjunction of all those explanations for the lar things. If you want to avoid a circular explanation, ah, then it looks like you're going to have to appeal to something beyond the series. But i have in mind a very minimal notion of explanation, some kind of condition that would allow the effect to even be possible. The infinite regress includes a you'e all the explanations all the way out.
