immortality is actually possible in biology, but it requires natural selection. If you're all you're looking for is well functioning cells then it's enough for cells to fail or be destroyed by drugs and reprogrammed back to their backup copy. But to get well functioning whole organisms that are subject to natural selection whole organisms that either succeed or fail. I welcome medical advances but we have to be extremely careful that we're not accidentally doing more harm via cancer than good. And thank you both for what's been a really terrific debate.
