I think there can be this true knowledge of God through the scripture, but it doesn't mean you've exhausted what that passage is trying to say. And even when I was teaching farmers in Kenya, hermeneutics, I remember them trying to get me to tell them what certain parables meant. Some of those grandmas were raised on farms in Iowa that did not have running water and they worked fields for, you know, as children and beyond. We don't want to make it a zero sum game of everything that was going on before these discoveries.
