Is There a Modern Monetory Theory?

A lot of what we now take as liberal capitalism is based on the economics that's been taught for the past ten and 20 years. A modern strand called modern monetory theory basically says that the conception of government as like, we need to make money available to do x is actually a complete backwards way to think about it. The answer is, are we willing to then follow the kind of necessary economic policies in order to insure that we don't experience hyper inflation?
