The Origins of Neo-Kantianism in Germany

German neo-Kantianism developed in two geographical areas with two tendencies. The first is a philosophy of science in Marburg and the second is as a philosophy of culture in history in Heidelberg. For Lukach it was the Marburg school that was most formative. In this orientation, neo-kantian philosophers claimed that there is an epistemological sort of incapacity of ascertaining certain forms of historical knowledge.
