When I was 17, my father was the president of a place called Brandeis University. The board of trustees were a group of wealthy men who wanted to start a Jewish-sponsored non-sectarian university. None of the board members had ever gone to college. So when I became a professor at Harvard and I looked at the board of trustees or fellows and the president,. I just saw them as sort of employees and just sort of as a game. It seems a little bit like well-meaning pubescent boys who are power-tripping with their puberty - that's what it feels like.
