Alchemy and the Crusades From the Middle East

Alchemy came into europe because of the crusades from the middle east. We have alchemy been brought into europe largely by the monastic community. At that time, there was a dude in spain called ramon lull and he was a christian missionary. He had dedicated his life to trying to convert moslems to christianity. And it's generally believed  he didn't believe in alchemy - but this is not true. Back an those days, practising alchemy was a risky business. So most people did it in secret,. or they used aliases, or if they published under their own name, they publicly denied a belief in occultism or alchemy
