The gun that killed Kimberly Cassius was her own, not her service weapon, but another. Police had an eyewitness to this alleged death by suicide. Her estranged husband, John Rivera, who was with their eight-month-old son at the time of the shooting. He told police that she was distraught and before he could stop her, she put a gun to her head and pulled the trigger.
