The book is aimed at people who have used a little or even a lot of the language and lost track of recent changes. It's nice that the live version of the book has a copy button for code snippets that you can try. I think there might be a misconception where people think that if you use std-endal, it provides a magical cross-platform way of ending the line which is not true, really.
