The Bridegroom Is With You

Part of the Pharisees tradition of fasting two days a week is it started, even with reference back to the prophet Zachariah. And so they're mourning the absence of God in the temple. Jesus shows tremendous pastoral wisdom in teaching the disciples. He doesn't impose upon them the fasts. Why? Because they're not ready for it yet.
