What Is the Difference Between an Abortion and a Miscarriage?

Abortion and miscarriage are both incredibly common. Both occur about a million times per year. In many cases they are clinically indistinguishable. There is no sort of instant test to distinguish whether it was a deliberate miscarriage or a natural one. Under certain hospitals, under certain district attorneys jurisdictions, that miscarriage can and will be investigated as a possible crime.
