The Exile of the Chaldeans
King nebuchadnezzar, king of babylon, nebuzeradan, the captain of the body guard, came to jerusalem. He burned down every great house and took away all vessels of bronze used in the temple service. Gadalia made governor of judah; he was killed by Jehoiakin's men at mispa'a. The chaldeans were freed from exile but went to egypt for they were afraid of the chaldean officials. They slew zedekiah before his eyes and bound him in fetters as punishment.
