I think institutionalization makes you accept things which don't seem absurd until you finally lay them out. I always dreaded going to school, but had a pretty good home life. Maybe people with worse home life look forward to going to school and certainly get to hang out with other kids. But we can't really define it. You know, how would you define dropping out? It's funny how many of the icons of dropping out throughout are into that stuff. And for a long time, I was into homesteading.
