Lachlan charged the troll like it was one of the training dummies, shield high and sword forward. He fainted a sword swing and then slid low under the troll's club-like arm. There was no way he would win a fight against a troll, but he thought he could outrun it. The path ended at what looked like a low wooden bridge heading out into the water.
