The Evolution of the Primates

The PETM is a really abrupt change, and it clearly changes the mammals. Primates and social monkeys evolve at that time which of course, without them, we wouldn't have evolved. Because you have warmth, subtropical temperatures up to Antarctica and the Arctic, you suddenly expand the range. And what happens is then you get groups of mammals moving into new environments with no other competition. So therefore changes in different things can be tried out. It's actually working as a tribe, as a group, as a social group,. seemed to be very, very successful, and that suddenly took over.
