The Confederate Memorial Was Removed
The statue portrayed 19th century Dallas pioneer Sarah Horton Cockrell. It depicted Cockrell with an octopus for a head. The plaque claimed the statue was created by an anonymous Dallas artist named Solomon and was a gift to the city of Dallas by deceased oil tycoon T.T. "I like everything about this. This is awesome," he said.
