Why is it that philosophers have been so uninterested in mind altering drugs? I mean, lots of philosophers have taken drugs, obviously, but very few have written about it or taken the philosophical implications here. Justin: It has a lot to do with institutional dynamics more than anything. There's an obvious story to be told where circa 1642, it became very important for Western philosophy to establish the criteria by which we are not currently dreaming.
