The Importance of Durability in Distributed Logging
There's some interesting trade-offs though. If you're looking at Raft versus some other things you can do out there. So Raft is very highly durable and very strongly consistent. You need basically more than half of your notes in the cluster to receive a write and then confirm it before you can kind of keep writing. And if you're going to distribute an app across the world, latencies between those nodes that can be difficult.
